This "Te Calmas O Te Calmo" is a must-have in any Mexican household. If I had a dollar for every time my parents said this phrases when I was a kid, I'd have enough to pay off my house now - ha! Makes a great gift for new parents!

This has got to be one of my favorite Mexican quotes! Es que es cierto, getting up after life knocks you down is not easy, but the fact that we do, deserves to be celebrated!

I've always loved my Mexican culture, even though life hasn't exactly been easy as a first generation Mexican American who speaks with an accent, thinks in Spanglish, therefore "talks funny" at times; and the feeling of not ever quite fitting in with colleagues in the corporate world and feeling too white to blend in fully with my Mexican family.
Nevertheless, I'm delighted with the life I life. I absolutely LOVE Mexican music, Mexican food, Mexican humor, and having spent summer in Mexico while growing up really helped me appreciate the sacrifices my parents made to give us a brighter future. This sticker was created to honor them and for those who, like me, are very connected to their Mexican roots (or any other country of origin) and loving it!
After two years of not hosting or participating on any events, I'm so excited to finally be back in the community teaching my favorite art form - hand lettering!
I always provide a workbook and supplies to all my students, but 2-3 hours is never enough time for them to play and practice, so I've compiled an image gallery of my favorite lettering supplies, with affiliate links, for anyone who wants to purchase these and continue their creative journey. If you buy any of these, please make sure to tag me on Instagram at @ms.dioperez to show me your latest creations!

"Making Jefa Moves" is one of my popular hand-drawn designs, currently available on t-shirts and stickers. The t-shirts make a great gift for graduates, people starting their own small business or those who are working their way up in the corporate world.
The stickers measure about 4 inches tall x 3.25 inches wide. They're perfect for decorating tumblers, reusable water bottles, notebooks and more! Click on the buttons below for more information. Cuando tu papá es "Espooky" instead of "El Buki" y te compone una canción llamada "Chiquilla Boonita". 🤣
This one's for all Buki fans who also happen to love participating in the Halloween spirit. All shirts are made to order. This one ships from my studio in Palm Springs, Ca. Art is cool, but it's waaaay cooler when it's funny and relatable. If you live in a Latinx household then this Spanish Halloween art print is a "must add" to your seasonal decor.
The phrase "aqui asustan" or "aqui espantan" is used to alert others that the place is haunted and to alert others that you might get scared. That last sentence though...that takes ALL blame away from any ghost. Haha. This black and white print is available in 5x7 and 8x10. Printed by a professional printshop to ensure high quality and durability. Ships within 3 business days from Palm Springs, California. |
