Beat the Monday blues with the Monday Hues! Today's color inspiration is a warm palette of blues and browns, compliments of this lovely vintage typewriter from an outdoor display I found at Pioneertown, CA this summer. It's just breathtaking! Feel free to download the files swatches to use in all of your creative endeavors. It's that time of the week again, we've got the blues 'cause the weekend just ended, but we're going to beat them blues together with the Monday Hues! Today we are featuring a palette of blue and charcoal drawn from a vintage Royal typewriter. When I see this palette, I envision a set of elegant wedding invitations on bright white card stock with modern calligraphy in charcoal blue ink. It also makes me think of New York City. And an elegant gala with women in gorgeous evening gowns and well groomed men in tuxes.
What does this palette inspire or remind you of? Please, do tell in the comments below! Have a lovely week, my friends!
In honor of back to school, I'm including a 4-week vintage typewriter series into the existing Monday Hues color inspiration series – starting today! If you like everything vintage, you will LOVE the closeup snap shots I took at an outdoor vintage desk and typewriter display I discovered in Pioneertown a few weeks back. It's truly fascinating!
I remember learning how to type in middle school on old metal typewriters like the ones you're about to see. My gosh, how quickly times have changed! Don't forget to check back next week to see what other color swatches these beautifully rusting pieces of equipment have in store for you. Happy Monday, my friend!
So why did the chickens from last week's post cross the road? Well, to get their treasure box, of course. And what was in their treasure box? Well don't quote me on this, but I'd guess that's where they keep their golden chicken feed! And now you get to add this great color palette to YOUR designer's treasure box by downloading the ASE (Adobe Swatch Exchange) color file. Use the color swatches to design baby boy birth announcements, gender neutral baby shower invitations or little boy's birthday invitations and party decor. What else does this palette inspire you? Let me know in the comments below.
Beat the Monday blues with the Monday Hues! Today's color inspiration comes from Pioneertown, California, home of these lovely chickens and this old decorative wooden chest. I wonder if that's where the chickens store their treasure? Hmm...what would a chicken's treasure look like? Oh, I know! But I won't tell you, I'll just show you in next week's Monday Hues color inspiration image.
Happy Monday my friend! Beat the Monday blues with the Monday Hues! Today's color inspiration comes from Sea World! All that pink in the picture, and no pink in the color swatches, how's that for being a rebel?
Spent a beautiful afternoon walking Mane Street in Pioneertown a couple of weeks ago. It's such a beautiful rustic place. I've lived in the Palm Springs desert area for almost 20 years now, and I didn't discover this place until 2 years ago. It's one of my favorite places to go for a quick getaway. Only 30 miles north of Palm Springs, CA, beautiful scenic drive and great food at Pappy & Harriet's. More Pioneertown pictures coming soon!
Happy Monday, my friends! Happy Monday, friends! Here's a warm swatch palette for you. I don't even know what this contraption is, but the gorgeous colors caused by the rust really caught my attention as I was walking by. Some things just look so much more beautiful when you look at them up close, don't you think?
Have a great week! And don't forget to download the swatch files to use in your design projects. Cheers! Happy Monday, my friends! It's going to be a bit of a long week as we impatiently await the many upcoming Independence Day celebrations. So, to help you fight the Monday blues, I've brought you a very vibrant Monday Hues swatch collection today, with the traditional 4th of July reds and blues, the happiness of yellow and the color/texture of sand. Yep, summer is here - it's time to BBQ and play in the sand!
Have a wonderful week and a very safe, and very happy 4th of July weekend! Xoxo, Dio Happy Monday! Today's color inspiration features a glimpse of my front yard and proof that my husband is by no means a gardener or a neat freak. But that's a whole new conversation that requires it's own blog post - ha! Today's color library also includes a secret coordinating color which you can see when you download the free ASE file for this post. If you aren't familiar with ASE color files and want to learn more about them and how to load them to Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, check out this post and tutorial.
