I am happy to announce that Module 1: Operation Designer Arsenal of Stationery Boot Camp is now open for early bird registration!

One thing I learned early on is that organization is key to your success! Once you begin working with clients you will learn that it takes about 20-30 hours to complete an order of 100 invitations, and out of that, only 6 hours are spent conceptualizing and designing, the other two thirds of the time are spent managing the project. This module will arm you with the right tools to execute all tasks relating to design and press production. You will set up systems that will allow you to transition from one phase of the project to the next seamlessly, and apply time-saving methods to those systems so that you spend less time on operating tasks and more time providing quality services to your clients.
Training duration: 2 weeks

Below is a list with short descriptions of the lessons we will cover in Module 1: "Operation Designer Arsenal"

  • The Process – An inside view at my entire process, all the way from the initial client inquiry to the delivery of a completed custom invitations order (and everything in between). You can adapt my process or borrow from it as needed. Includes guidelines and actionable steps to avoid misunderstandings and gain your client's trust.
  • Digital and Analog Designer Tools – An introduction to the tools of the trade, what they are and when to use them.
  • Software – Quick overview of the three applications I use to create my stationery designs, address envelopes and create forms. Includes short introductory video tutorials.
  • Templates – In this lesson you will learn how to save time and energy by creating and using templates to speed up many aspects of the design process and project management.
  • Documentation – During the second week of "Operation Designer Arsenal" you will learn all about the necessary documents that will help you gather project information, understand project goals, stay organized and transition from one phase of the project to the next. Those documents include: The Creative Brief, Font List, Invitation Wording, Service Agreement, Proofing Checklist, Production Form and Price List. By creating these documents ahead of time, before your business gets too big, you won't have to struggle to set time aside in the future when you're too busy handling orders.

Boot Camp Begins: Monday, August 10, 2015
Includes assignments and a round of Q&A every Friday.

Availability: There are only 24 seats available. Module 1: Operation Designer Arsenal of Stationery Boot Camp will not reopen for registration until summer of 2016 – don't wait!

    *Affiliate Links

I am often asked what tools I use to create my work, so I’ve incorporated Amazon affiliate links in my posts to products I like, use and recommend. This means that if you click and make a purchase, I will earn a small commission paid for by Amazon, not the customer.
